“Ramadan mubarak!” is the expression used in the Muslim religion to wish a good Ramadan to one’s loved ones. In 2021, the first day of fasting in the month of Ramadan 1442 (the current Islamic calendar year) was made official on Friday, April 13, 2021.
The beginning of a sacred parenthesis during which many prohibitions are to be respected, starting with abstaining from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset. And just as Christians wish each other a “Merry Christmas”, or a good Lent, the followers of Islam wish each other a good Ramadan, via the consecrated expression in Arabic “Ramadan mubarak! The expression can also be said by non-Muslims. In the eyes of the faithful, it allows in any case to wish a fertile month of Ramadan, rich as well in fasting as in prayers, meditations, generosity, solidarity, peace, faith, quietude and love.
